The preliminary task is to create a 30-40 second long radio show interview included with an introductory music/jingle and a presenter who introduces and interviews a responsive guest. I may create the jingle using an archive sound clip which is linked to whoever the guest may be; for example if the guest is a singer, I would insert a short sound clip of them performing a song. The purpose of this exercise is to present my understanding of sound editing and conventions of radio. This task can be done with a group of 4 (max).

-This was the final radio interview script which we'd used to record our official interview. As a group, we had made a few minor changes to the first draft, for one reason or another and we were able to all agree with the whole script.
Creating my jingle & interview
Displayed above are images of myself in the media room after school, as I create the jingle for my radio interview's introduction. The application I appear to be using on the iPad is called 'GarageBand' which is an intelligent app that allows you to produce music using its many instruments and settings. You can combine different sounds which you make with its virtual instruments to give a unique combination of these sounds that, in turn, becomes music. At first I played around with the app a bit to discover its different features and get a feel for what everything does. Then using this knowledge I proceeded to create my jingle using a number of instruments, with their combined sounds.
The program displayed on the MacBook laptop is called 'Audacity' and is useful because it allows my group to record our interview speech and edit it to our satisfaction. This explains the microphone beside the laptop, which was used to record our radio interview. Audacity is great as it gives us a number of ways to edit the interview, like to cut out certain parts of the interview if it runs for too long, for example.
